 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  environmental  conservation law, in relation to
   providing the definition of integrated pest management

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  33-0101 of the environmental conservation law is
 amended by adding a new subdivision 27-a to read as follows:
   27-A. "INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT"  MEANS  A  SYSTEMATIC  APPROACH  TO
 MANAGING  PESTS THAT UTILIZES A DIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT OPTIONS TO MINI-
 MIZE HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC RISKS AND IMPACTS. THESE OPTIONS
 MAY INCLUDE BIOLOGICAL, CULTURAL, PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL TOOLS TO PREVENT
 PEST INFESTATIONS OR REDUCE THEM TO ACCEPTABLE LEVELS.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
