 Introduced  by  Sen.  HANNON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Health
 
 AN ACT to amend a chapter of the  laws  of  2017,  amending  the  social
   services  law  relating to fiscal intermediary certification under the
   consumer directed personal assistance program, as proposed in legisla-
   tive bills numbers S.2007-B and A.3007-B, in relation to the effective
   date of certain provisions thereof
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  7  of  part  E of a chapter of the laws of 2017,
 amending the social services law relating to fiscal intermediary certif-
 ication under the consumer  directed  personal  assistance  program,  as
 proposed  in legislative bills numbers S.2007-B and A.3007-B, is amended
 to read as follows:
   § 7. This act shall take effect immediately and  shall  be  deemed  to
 have  been  in  full force and effect on and after April 1, 2017; EXCEPT
 THAT SECTION ONE OF THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON THE FIRST  OF  JANUARY
 AFTER  IT SHALL HAVE BECOME A LAW; PROVIDED THAT PRIOR TO THAT DATE, THE
 COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH SHALL MAKE REGULATIONS  AND  TAKE  OTHER  ACTIONS
 REASONABLY  NECESSARY  TO  IMPLEMENT SUBDIVISIONS 4-A AND 4-B OF SECTION
 365-F OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES LAW, AS ADDED BY SECTION ONE OF  THIS  ACT,
 ON THAT DATE; AND PROVIDED FURTHER THAT ANY ENTITY OPERATING AS A FISCAL
 INTERMEDIARY  PRIOR TO THIS ACT BECOMING A LAW MAY CONTINUE TO DO SO FOR
 ONE YEAR AFTER THIS ACT TAKES EFFECT, AND MAY CONTINUE TO  DO  SO  AFTER
 THAT TIME ONLY UPON OBTAINING AUTHORIZATION UNDER THIS ACT.
   §  2.  This  act  shall  take  effect on the same date and in the same
 manner as part E of a chapter of the laws of 2017, amending  the  social
 services  law  relating  to  fiscal intermediary certification under the
 consumer directed personal assistance program, as proposed  in  legisla-
 tive bills numbers S.2007-B and A.3007-B, takes effect.
