BILL NUMBER: S6118 TITLE OF BILL : An act in relation to removing library taxes of the East Syracuse-Minoa central school district from real property located in that portion of such school district that is located within the Northern Onondaga public library district PURPOSE : This bill removes that portion of the Town of Cicero that is currently located in the East Syracuse - Minoa library district. That portion of the Town of Cicero would remain in the North Onondaga Public library district. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section 1- Removes portions of the Town of Cicero that are in both the North Onondaga Public library district and the East Syracuse - Minoa from the library tax rolls in the East -Syracuse Minoa School District. VALESKY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT in relation to removing library taxes of the East Syracuse-Minoa central school district from real property located in that portion of such school district that is located within the Northern Onondaga public library district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the East Syra- cuse-Minoa central school district, located in the town of Cicero, coun- ty of Onondaga, shall not impose any library tax for the support of the school district library upon any parcel of real property located within such school district which is also located within the Northern Onondaga public library district and subject to real property taxes to support such library district. For all purposes, any real property removed from the library portion of East Syracuse-Minoa central school district taxes pursuant to this act shall be deemed to be within the service area of the Northern Onondaga public library district established pursuant to chapter 515 of the laws of 1995 and shall be subject to taxation for the support of such. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall apply to assess- ment rolls prepared on the basis of taxable status dates occurring on or after such date.
