BILL NUMBER: S6552 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the scheduling of meetings of the board of the Albany convention center authority PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : The purpose of this bill is to change the schedule of meetings of the board of the Albany Convention Center Authority from monthly to quarterly. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : Section one of this bill amends subdivision 6 of section 2675-d of the public authorities law to require the Albany Convention Center Authority board to hold quarterly meetings on an annual basis. Section two provides for an immediate effective date. JUSTIFICATION : Currently, the Albany Convention Center Authority (ACCA) Board is required to meet on a monthly basis as enacted in the ACCA enabling legislation. BRESLIN, AMEDORE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the schedul- ing of meetings of the board of the Albany convention center authority THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 2675-d of the public authorities law, as added by chapter 468 of the laws of 2004, is amended to read as follows: 6. The board shall hold at least one regular meeting [every month] QUARTERLY. The chairperson, or in his or her absence the vice-chairper- son, or any four members, may call a special meeting by notice as speci- fied by the board. All meetings of the board shall be subject to arti- cle seven of the public officers law. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
