BILL NUMBER: S6821 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the executive law, in relation to designating Great Valley as an inland waterway for purposes of waterfront revitalization PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : To add waterways in the Town and Village of Ellicottville to the list of Designated Inland Waterways. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Amends Section 1, Subdivision 4, Article 42 of Section 911 of Executive Law, to expand the definition of inland waterways to include the Great Valley Creek in the Town of Ellicottville. JUSTIFICATION : The Town and Village of Ellicottville intends to create a Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan. Creating such a plan would help Ellicottville designate development and preservation plans that would then allow them to apply for government funding streams to support Ellicottville's growth and sustainability. Paragraph (c) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the execu- tive law, as separately amended by chapters 113, 126, 154, 157, 175, 176, 214, 216, 217 and 227 of the laws of 2016, is amended to read as follows: (c) the state's major creeks comprised of the 18 Mile Creek located in Erie county, Bash Bish located in Columbia county, Basher Kill, Bush- kill, Cattaraugus, Cincinnati, East Kill, Esopus (including upper and lower branches), Fish (including east and west branches), Gooseberry, GREAT VALLEY, Little Sandy, Onondaga, Roeliff Jansen Kill, Rondout, Sandy, Schoharie, Shawangunk Kill, South Sandy, Oatka, Tonawanda, West Kill, Scajaquada, Wappinger, Black Creek located in Monroe county, Black Creek located in Genesee and Wyoming counties, Ellicott Creek located in Erie county and Wynantskill, Claverack, Taghkanic and Agawamuck and Wyomanock; § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13041-06-7
