BILL NUMBER: S6900 SPONSOR: MARCHIONE TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to legalizing, validating, ratify- ing and confirming certain transportation contracts of the Taconic Hills central school district PURPOSE: This bill would correct a clerical error caused by extenuating circum- stances, between the Taconic Hills Central School District and the State Education Department in the 2015-2016 school year in an effort to restore transportation aid to the School District. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 legalizes, validates ratifies, and confirms transportation contracts E264632, E412975, E264580 and E273436, in connection with transportation contracts of the 2015-2016 school year. Section 2 directs the Department of Education to consider the contracts

MARCHIONE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT in relation to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming certain transportation contracts of the Taconic Hills central school district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or caused to be had and taken by the Taconic Hills central school district and by all officers, employees or agents of such school district relating to or in connection with transportation contracts E264632, E412975, E264580, and E273436 of the 2015--2016 school year, and all acts incidental thereto are hereby legalized, validated, rati- fied and confirmed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the contract award, approval, and filing provisions of the education law, the general municipal law or any other law or any other statutory authority, rule or regulation, other than those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any omission, error, defect, irregularity or ille- gality in such proceeding had and taken. § 2. The department of education is hereby directed to consider the aforementioned contracts for transportation aid as valid and proper obligations of the Taconic Hills central school district. § 3.
