 AN ACT to amend the education law,  in  relation  to  scheduling  school
   lunch periods
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Section 813 of the education law, as added by  chapter  296
 of the laws of 1994, is amended to read as follows:
   § 813. School lunch period; scheduling.  Each school shall schedule [a
 reasonable  time]  TIMES  FOR  STUDENTS  TO  CONSUME LUNCH THAT BEGIN NO
 EARLIER THAN TWO AND ONE-HALF HOURS AND NO LATER THAN FOUR  HOURS  AFTER
 THE  START  OF THE SCHOOL DAY for each full day pupil attending pre-kin-
 dergarten through grade twelve [to consume lunch].
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of  August  occurring  in
 the year two years after which this act becomes a law.
