   printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation  to  the
   taking of crabs
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivision 8  of  section  13-0331  of  the  environmental
 conservation  law,  as  added by a chapter of the laws of 2017, amending
 the environmental conservation law relating to the taking of  crabs,  as
 proposed  in legislative bills numbers A. 8184-A and S. 6682, is amended
 to read as follows:
   8. The department shall, when adopting  regulation  measures  for  the
 management  of  horseshoe  crabs  (Limulus  sp.) pursuant to subdivision
 seven of this section, [cooperate] CONSULT with  any  town,  village  or
 county  that  requests  any  municipal  property be subject to a harvest
 closure.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the  same  date  and  in  the  same
 manner  as  a  chapter  of  the laws of 2017, amending the environmental
 conservation law relating to the the taking of  crabs,  as  proposed  in
 legislative bills numbers A. 8184-A and S. 6682, takes effect.
