COMMENDING Stanley Vixaner-Etienne upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition
by the CAMBA Beacon Karate Program on June 13, 2019

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Stanley
Vixaner-Etienne upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the CAMBA Beacon Karate Program to be celebrated at its
25th Anniversary Event on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at PS 361 in
Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1977, CAMBA is a non-profit agency which
provides services that connect people with opportunities to enhance
their quality of life; and

WHEREAS, CAMBA is a community of clients, staff, volunteers, donors,
neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York
City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and
support they need to thrive; and

WHEREAS, In 2010, Stanley Vixaner-Etienne was introduced to Tae Kwon
Do at the CAMBA Beacon Summer Camp, and quickly became hooked; that
fall, he became a regular at the Karate Program, and began his journey
towards his Black Belt with the aid of his instructor William Cross, who
helped him grow strong, both mentally and physically; and

WHEREAS, After completing his 1st Degree Black Belt test, Stanley
Vixaner-Etienne graduated from high school and attended the Borough of
Manhattan Community College; he returned to the CAMBA Beacon Karate
Program, and served as an after school teacher and assistant to Head
Instructor Chris DePrado; and

WHEREAS, Today, Stanley Vixaner-Etienne is an instructor for the
CAMBA Beacon Karate Program; in this capacity, he strives to build the
next generation with the same teachings that was taught to him; he
teaches his students structure and discipline, while motivating them to
reach their full potential; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Vixaner-Etienne continues to train and strengthen
his mind and body; recently, he was promoted to the rank of a 2nd Degree
Black Belt; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Stanley Vixaner-Etienne upon the occasion of his designation for

special recognition by the CAMBA Beacon Karate Program on June 13, 2019;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Stanley Vixaner-Etienne.
