COMMENDING Spressos Coffee House & Eatery upon the
occasion of celebrating its 15th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize
illustrious culinary establishments which have positively impacted and
substantially contributed to the vitality of their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Spressos Coffee House & Eatery upon the occasion of celebrating
its 15th Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, A landmark within its community, Spressos Coffee House &
Eatery, located in the Community Bank Building on Griffiss Park in the
City of Rome, New York, is one of the area's most well-known and
respected restaurants; and

WHEREAS, Shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City,
Lorie Guerrieri started the Small Batch Cookie Company, a small
home-based business; after about a year, she realized there was no place
in Rome to enjoy a good cup of coffee with an equally delicious dessert;
and

WHEREAS, On May 4, 2005, Lorie and Mario Guerrieri founded Spressos
Coffee House & Eatery on James Street in Rome, New York; on October 3,
2007, they opened a second location at 160 Brooks Road; in January of
2011, the original location was closed and the couple focused on their
Griffis Park coffeehouse; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, Spressos Coffee House & Eatery has
been serving customers of Rome and the surrounding area with fine foods
and handcrafted espresso drinks, made with top-quality, fresh
ingredients; they also believe in using natural products which are kind
to the environment and truly make their drinks taste better; and

WHEREAS, In addition to their creative menu, Lorie and Mario
Guerrieri offer exceptional, old-fashioned customer service; they always
greet each and every customer with a smile, and take the time to learn
their names and favorite recipes; and

WHEREAS, Spressos Coffee House & Eatery accepts online orders, and
offers a special catering service for business and small private events,
an in-shop cooler stocked with grab-and-go food items such as
sandwiches, yogurts and quarts of soup; and

WHEREAS, The success of Spressos is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the institution and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the

local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Spressos Coffee House & Eatery upon the occasion of celebrating
its 15th Anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lorie and Mario Guerrieri, co-Owners, Spressos Coffee
House & Eatery.
