HONORING Dawn Lupi upon the occasion of her
retirement after 31 years of distinguished service
as Oneida County's First Assistant District Attorney
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dawn Lupi upon the occasion of her retirement after 31 years of
distinguished service as Oneida County's First Assistant District
Attorney; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and
responsibilities, Dawn Lupi's ongoing efforts and notable achievements
have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in her
community; and
WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Dawn Lupi rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Oneida County, New York; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as First Assistant District Attorney, Dawn
Lupi served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Utica, New York, Dawn Lupi graduated
from Notre Dame High School in 1979, and attended Siena College as a
history major; she went on to earn a law degree from Syracuse University
in 1986; and
WHEREAS, Upon the completion of her studies, Dawn Lupi worked in a
private law firm in Syracuse for one year before returning to Utica, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Dawn Lupi began her illustrious career with the Oneida
County District Attorney's Office in April of 1988; and
WHEREAS, With a true passion for her profession, Dawn Lupi worked
tirelessly to seek justice as a prosecutor, specializing in crimes
against children; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with Oneida County, Dawn Lupi prosecuted
64 felony trials, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Dawn Lupi was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 29 years,
Russell, and their two daughters, who have all shown her love and
support and rejoice in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dawn Lupi upon the occasion of her retirement after 31 years of
distinguished service as Oneida County's First Assistant District
Attorney; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dawn Lupi.
