CONGRATULATING the Queensbury High School Boys
Varsity Nordic Ski Team upon the occasion of
capturing the 2020 NYSPHSAA Nordic Alpine Skiing
Championship on February 25, 2020

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Queensbury High School Boys Varsity Nordic Ski Team upon the occasion of
capturing the 2020 Championship in the 3x3K Classic Relay on Tuesday,
February 25, 2020, at the Bristol Mountain Nordic Center in Canandaigua,
New York; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, Sam
Rowley, Nick Logan, Lucas Jenkin, Teddy Borgos, and Ben Jenkin won the
3x3K Classic Relay with an outstanding time of 31 minutes, 15.2 seconds,
defeating the second-place team by 5.7 seconds, and clinching the title
with a combined 88 points; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the efforts of Coach Paul Allison, a skilled and inspirational
tutor, respected for his ability to develop potential into excellence;
and

WHEREAS, The team's overall record is outstanding, and the team
members were loyally and enthusiastically supported by family, fans,
friends and the community at large; and

WHEREAS, The hallmarks of the Queensbury Boys Varsity Nordic Ski
Team, from the opening race of the season to participation in the
championship, were a brotherhood of athletic ability, of good
sportsmanship, of honor and of scholarship, demonstrating that these
team players are second to none; and

WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, the team members have proven
themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting
favorably on their school; and

WHEREAS, Coach Paul Allison has done a superb job in guiding,
molding and inspiring the team members toward their goals; and

WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment, and Coach Paul Allison and his outstanding athletes

have clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Queensbury High School Boys Varsity Nordic Ski Team:
Sam Rowley, Nick Logan, Lucas Jenkin, Teddy Borgos, and Ben Jenkin; and
Coach Paul Allison upon the occasion of capturing the 2020 NYSPHSAA
Nordic Alpine Skiing Championship on February 25, 2020; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Queensbury High School Boys Varsity
Nordic Ski Team and Coach Paul Allison.
