COMMENDING The Good Friday National Holiday
Campaign, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its Good
Friday Prayer Brunch on January 19, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend The Good Friday National Holiday Campaign, Inc. upon the
occasion of hosting its Good Friday Prayer Brunch on Saturday, January
19, 2019, at the United Nations Millennium Hotel in New York City; and

WHEREAS, The Good Friday National Holiday Campaign seeks to
establish Good Friday as a National Holiday in the United States of
America; and

WHEREAS, The goal of this vital campaign is to enlighten and engage
the community-at-large on the significance of Good Friday as one of the
most important dates on the Christian calendar; currently, many states
commemorate Good Friday as a state holiday; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to the cause,
The Good Friday National Holiday Campaign will continue to lobby,
promote, and preserve its cause until Good Friday is established as a
National Holiday in the United States; and

WHEREAS, The Good Friday National Holiday Campaign is a nonprofit
organization made up of leaders from different communities and boroughs,
as well as clergy members from New York State, currently advocating for
the passage of Senate Bill S.6937 and Assembly Bill A. 10923 to
designate Good Friday as a Public Holiday in New York State; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, The Good Friday National
Holiday Campaign has demonstrated continuous service to the residents
and communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of The Good Friday National Holiday Campaign is
in direct correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Good Friday National Holiday Campaign, Inc. upon the

occasion of hosting its Good Friday Prayer Brunch on January 19, 2019;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Good Friday National Holiday Campaign, Inc.
