CONGRATULATING Bailey Crouse upon the occasion of
capturing the 138-pound wrestling title at the
inaugural NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational
Tournament on February 16, 2019

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Bailey Crouse upon the occasion of capturing the 138-pound wrestling
title at the inaugural NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational Tournament
on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Niagara County Community College in
Sanborn, New York; and

WHEREAS, The tournament featured 50 exceptional female wrestlers
from across the State of New York; a standout wrestler for the Tonawanda
High School Team, Bailey Crouse was proudly crowned the first ever girls
138-pound wrestling State Champion; and

WHEREAS, In front of a capacity crowd and a fan base of family,
friends and teammates, Bailey Crouse pinned both a Grand Island High
School senior in 53 seconds and a LeRoy High School senior in 28
seconds; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as wrestling, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Coaches Dan Bishop and Jordan McGregor
worked hard to hone the skills of this champion, teaching this
outstanding athlete lessons which will prove invaluable both on and off
the mat; and

WHEREAS, Bailey Crouse has clearly utilized dedication,
determination and teamwork in providing a lasting contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of her school; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Bailey Crouse upon the occasion of capturing the 138-pound
wrestling title at the inaugural NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational
Tournament on February 16, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Bailey Crouse, and Coaches Dan Bishop and Jordan
McGregor.
