S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 10741 I N A S S E M B L Y July 9, 2020 ___________ Introduced by COMMITTEE ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. Glick) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT in relation to permitting the education department to renew limited and provisional permits for an additional twelve months THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, due to the state disaster emergency declared by the governor pursuant to executive order 202, the department of education, in its discretion, may renew limited and provisional permits issued pursuant to sections 6605, 6735, 6741-a, 6958, 7705, 7604, 7806, 8409, 8506, 8511, 8608 and 8806 of the education law for an additional 12 months for good cause shown. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD16816-01-0
