S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 9070 I N A S S E M B L Y January 15, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. GOTTFRIED -- read once and referred to the Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection AN ACT to amend chapter 557 of the laws of 2001 amending the general business law, the public health law and the insurance law relating to clarifying provisions pertaining to pre-need funeral services, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 6 of chapter 557 of the laws of 2001 amending the general business law, the public health law and the insurance law relat- ing to clarifying provisions pertaining to pre-need funeral services, as amended by chapter 32 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows: § 6. This act shall take effect 30 days after it shall have become a law [provided, however sections 3 and 4 of this act shall expire, be deemed repealed and shall cease to be of any force or effect after June 30, 2022]. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14643-01-0
