BILL NUMBER: S3112 SPONSOR: AKSHAR TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 125 of the laws of 2017, amending the environ- mental conservation law relating to hunting in the county of Broome west of the Susquehanna river, in relation to making the provisions thereof permanent PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: This bill makes permanent provisions to allow sportsmen to hunt deer and bear in Broome County west of the Susquehanna River with rifles and other arms. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 removes the October 1, 2019 expiration date and makes perma- nent provisions to allow sportsmen to hunt deer and bear in Broome Coun- ty west of the Susquehanna River with rifles and other arms.

AKSHAR -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend chapter 125 of the laws of 2017, amending the environ- mental conservation law relating to hunting in the county of Broome west of the Susquehanna river, in relation to making the provisions thereof permanent THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 5 of chapter 125 of the laws of 2017, amending the environmental conservation law relating to hunting in the county of Broome west of the Susquehanna river, is amended to read as follows: § 5. This act shall take effect immediately, provided that: a. the amendments to paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law made by section one of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such paragraph pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended; b. the amendments to item (f) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law made by section two of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such paragraph pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended; provided further, that the amendments made to such item (f) by section two of this act shall survive the expiration as provided in subdivision c of section 3 of chapter 68 of the laws of 2015; AND c. sections three and four of this act shall take effect upon the expiration and reversion of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as provided in section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended[; and d. nothing contained in this act shall be construed so as to extend the provisions of this act beyond October 1, 2019, when upon such date this act shall expire and the provisions contained herein shall be deemed repealed]. § 2.
