 AN ACT to amend the executive law and the public health law, in relation
   to directing the division of veterans' affairs to establish and  oper-
   ate  a  publicly accessible electronic database of the availability of
   openings for admission to state veterans' homes
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 353 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision 24 to read as follows:
   24. TO, IN CONSULTATION AND COOPERATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH,
 ESTABLISH  AND OPERATE AN INTERNET WEBSITE ELECTRONIC DATABASE, ACCESSI-
 BLE TO THE PUBLIC, WHICH PROVIDES THE NUMBER OF AVAILABLE  OPENINGS  FOR
 ELIGIBLE  INDIVIDUALS  AT EACH STATE VETERANS' HOME OPERATED PURSUANT TO
 ARTICLE TWENTY-SIX-A OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH LAW. IN ADDITION,  SUCH  ELEC-
 TRONIC  DATABASE SHALL, FOR EACH SUCH VETERANS' HOME, PROVIDE THE NUMBER
 OF ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE ON THE WAITING LIST FOR ADMISSION TO THE
 STATE VETERANS' HOME. THE DIVISION AND THE DEPARTMENT  OF  HEALTH  SHALL
 JOINTLY  ENSURE  THAT  THE INFORMATION POSTED ON THE ELECTRONIC DATABASE
 ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO THIS SUBDIVISION IS MAINTAINED AND UPDATED ON  A
 REAL TIME BASIS AS SUCH INFORMATION CHANGES.
   §  2. The public health law is amended by adding a new section 2636 to
 read as follows:
   § 2636. STATE VETERANS' HOME ELECTRONIC DATABASE. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
 FULLY COOPERATE WITH THE DIVISION OF VETERANS' AFFAIRS TO ESTABLISH  AND
 OPERATE  THE ELECTRONIC DATABASE PROVIDED FOR IN SUBDIVISION TWENTY-FOUR
 OF SECTION THREE HUNDRED FIFTY-THREE OF THE EXECUTIVE LAW,  AND  PROVIDE
 INFORMATION  RELATING  TO THE STATE VETERANS' HOMES OPERATED PURSUANT TO
 THIS ARTICLE TO SUCH DIVISION ON A REAL TIME BASIS.

 AN ACT to amend the executive law and the public health law, in relation
   to  directing the division of veterans' affairs to establish and oper-
   ate a publicly accessible electronic database of the  availability  of
   openings for admission to state veterans' homes
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 353 of the executive law is amended by adding a new

 SERVICE HISTORY, HONORABLE DISCHARGE, SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY,  AND
 SKILLED  NURSING  NEEDS. THE DIVISION AND THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SHALL
 JOINTLY ENSURE THAT THE INFORMATION POSTED ON  THE  ELECTRONIC  DATABASE
 ESTABLISHED  PURSUANT TO THIS SUBDIVISION IS MAINTAINED AND UPDATED ON A
 REAL TIME BASIS AS SUCH INFORMATION CHANGES.
