BILL NUMBER: S5438 SPONSOR: METZGER TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the general city law, in relation to limiting the applicability of plumbing and drainage provisions to the city of Middletown PURPOSE: Exempts the City of Middletown from article four of the General City Law, except section 56-a, which requires that a city maintain a board of plumbing examiners that is charged with the licensing of master plumbers authorized to do business in the city. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1: Amends subdivision 2 of section 57 of the General City Law to exempt the City of Middletown from article four of the General City Law, except section 56-a, which requires that a city maintain a board of plumbing examiners that is charged with the licensing of master plumbers authorized to do business in the city.

METZGER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Cities AN ACT to amend the general city law, in relation to limiting the appli- cability of plumbing and drainage provisions to the city of Middletown THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 57 of the general city law, as added by chapter 1046 of the laws of 1981, is amended to read as follows: 2. This article, with the exception of section fifty-six-a thereof, shall not apply to the city of Glens Falls AND THE CITY OF MIDDLETOWN. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
