 Introduced  by  Sen.  SERINO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions
 
 AN ACT to allow Frank Pallett of Wappingers Falls, New York to take  the
   competitive civil service examination for the position of police offi-
   cer  and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time
   university police officer for the State University of New York
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
 service law, or any other law to the contrary, Frank Pallett of Wapping-
 ers Falls, New York, shall be eligible to  take  the  competitive  civil
 service  examination  for  the  position  of  police  officer and shall,
 contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to be  placed
 on  the  eligible  list for appointment as a full-time university police
 officer for the State University of New York.
   § 2. Frank Pallett shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness
 provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi-
 cers.
   § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
