BILL NUMBER: S6268 SPONSOR: JORDAN TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 465 of the laws of 2016, amending the tax law relating to authorizing the city of Hudson to impose hotel and motel taxes, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF THE BILL: This bill would extend authorization for the City of Hudson to collect an occupancy tax on short-term lodgers. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 extends Chapter 465 of the Laws of 2016, which authorizes the City of Hudson to impose an occupancy tax for hotels and motels, until 2022. Section 2 sets the effective date.

JORDAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations AN ACT to amend chapter 465 of the laws of 2016, amending the tax law relating to authorizing the city of Hudson to impose hotel and motel taxes, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 465 of the laws of 2016, amending the tax law relating to authorizing the city of Hudson to impose hotel and motel taxes, is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed December 1, [2019] 2022. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
