BILL NUMBER: S6354 SPONSOR: COMRIE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 206 of the laws of 2010 amend- ing the public authorities law relating to establishing the metropolitan transportation authority small business mentoring program, in relation to the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OF THE BILL: The MTA Small Business Mentoring program will expire at the end of next year. This proposal extends the program for 10 years until December 31, 2029. Summary of provisions: Section 1 of the bill extends the expiration date of Public Authorities Law Section 1265-b to December 31, 2029. Section 2 of the bill provides that it takes effect immediately.

COMRIE -- (at request of the Metropolitan Transporta- tion Authority) -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend chapter 206 of the laws of 2010 amending the public authorities law relating to establishing the metropolitan transporta- tion authority small business mentoring program, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3 of chapter 206 of the laws of 2010, amending the public authorities law relating to establishing the metropolitan trans- portation authority small business mentoring program, is amended to read as follows: § 3. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire December 31, [2019] 2029 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed; provided that such expiration shall not apply to pend- ing and awarded public work contracts and provided further that effec- tive immediately, the addition, amendment or repeal of any rule, regu- lation or standard necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are authorized and directed to be made and completed on or before such effective date. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09490-01-9
