   when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the public health law,  in  relation  to  requiring  the
   commissioner  of  health to develop and update information on possible
   complications from pregnancy that can endanger the life or  health  of
   the  newborn or the mother; and requiring hospitals offering maternity
   or women's wellness services to provide information  concerning  preg-
   nancy  complications;  and  to repeal certain provisions of the public
   health law relating to providing information on possible complications
   from pregnancy
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 1-e of section 2803-j of the public health law,
 as added by a chapter of the laws of 2019 amending the public health law
 relating  to  providing information on possible complications from preg-
 nancy; and relating to screenings and referrals for serious  threats  to
 life  after pregnancy, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.4637-A
 and A.2957-A, is REPEALED.
   § 2. Subdivision 2 of section 266  of  the  public  health  law,  such
 section  as  added  by  chapter  342  of the laws of 2014, is renumbered
 subdivision 3 and a new subdivision 2 is added to read as follows:
   2. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL DEVELOP AND UPDATE AS NECESSARY  INFORMATION
 ON  POSSIBLE  COMPLICATIONS FROM PREGNANCY THAT CAN ENDANGER THE LIFE OR
 HEALTH OF THE NEWBORN OR THE MOTHER FOR PURPOSES  OF  ADVANCING  WOMEN'S
 HEALTH  INITIATIVES,  PURSUANT  TO SUBDIVISION ONE OF THIS SECTION. SUCH
 INFORMATION SHALL BE DEVELOPED IN CONSULTATION WITH ANY STATE  OR  LOCAL
 GOVERNMENT MATERNAL MORTALITY REVIEW BOARDS AND HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS OR
 OTHER EXPERTS IN THE FIELD OF WOMEN AND NEWBORN HEALTH. SUCH INFORMATION
 SHALL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE IN A PRINTABLE FORMAT, IN EACH OF THE TOP
 SIX  LANGUAGES SPOKEN IN THE STATE, OTHER THAN ENGLISH, ACCORDING TO THE
 LATEST AVAILABLE DATA FROM THE UNITED STATES CENSUS BUREAU, TO ALLOW ALL
 GENERAL HOSPITALS,  DIAGNOSTIC  AND  TREATMENT  CENTERS,  OBSTETRICIANS,
 PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS, MIDWIVES, AND OTHER HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS PROVID-
 ING  WOMEN'S  WELLNESS  SERVICES  TO  PROVIDE  THE  INFORMATION TO THEIR
