BILL NUMBER: S7800 SPONSOR: HELMING TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the authorization for Seneca county to impose additional rates of sales and compensating use tax PURPOSE: This bill would allow Seneca County to continue to add an additional one percent to its sales tax to meet operating costs of the county govern- ment. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1: Amends pertinent sections of the tax law to authorize Seneca County to continue to add an additional one percent sales tax to the present three percent rate until November 30, 2023.

HELMING -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the authorization for Seneca county to impose additional rates of sales and compensating use tax THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Clause 28 of subparagraph (i) of the opening paragraph of section 1210 of the tax law, as amended by section 1 of subpart RR of part A of chapter 61 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows: (28) the county of Seneca is hereby further authorized and empowered to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions imposing such taxes at a rate that is one percent additional to the three percent rate authorized above in this paragraph for such county for the period begin- ning December first, two thousand two and ending November thirtieth, two thousand [twenty] TWENTY-THREE; § 2.
