BILL NUMBER: S7886 SPONSOR: RITCHIE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the tax law, in relation to the imposition of sales and compensating use taxes in the county of Jefferson PURPOSE: Authorizes County of Jefferson to extend the current rate of sales and compensating use taxes for the period beginning December 1, 2020 and ending November 30, 2023. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends the tax law to authorize and empower the county of Jefferson to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances, or resolution to continue an additional tax rate during the period of December 1, 2020 and ending November 30, 2023.

RITCHIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to the imposition of sales and compensating use taxes in the county of Jefferson THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Clause 37 of subparagraph (i) of the opening paragraph of section 1210 of the tax law, as amended by section 1 of subpart V of part A of chapter 61 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows: (37) the county of Jefferson is hereby further authorized and empowered to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions imposing such taxes at a rate which is one percent additional to the three percent rate authorized above in this paragraph for such county for the period beginning December first, two thousand fifteen, and ending November thirtieth, two thousand [twenty] TWENTY-THREE; § 2.
