HONORING Pam Frazier upon the occasion of her
retirement after 40 years of distinguished service
to Crandall Public Library of Glens Falls, New York

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Pam Frazier upon the occasion of her retirement after 40
years of distinguished service to the Crandall Public Library, to be
celebrated on Friday, January 15, 2021; and

WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and
responsibilities, Pam Frazier's ongoing efforts and notable achievements
have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in her
community; and

WHEREAS, Pam Frazier began her illustrious career with the Crandall
Public Library in September of 1980, working as a part-time Librarian I,
responsible for inter-library loans (ILL), public service desk coverage,
supervision of the Outreach program, and coordination of microcomputer
programs; and

WHEREAS, In March of 1984, Pam Frazier was elevated to the full-time
position of Head of Circulation Services where she was responsible for
13 employees; and

WHEREAS, With the implementation of Automated Circulation Services
within the Southern Adirondack Library System (SALS), Pam Frazier was
promoted to Head of Automated Services in 1988, during which time this
impressive woman's computer acumen and eye for details made her perfect
for this role; and

WHEREAS, In 1994, Pam Frazier truly found her professional calling
with her promotion to Librarian II and her assignment to the Children's
Department where she garnered many new responsibilities, including
becoming the Young Adult Services Librarian; and

WHEREAS, Three years later, Pam Frazier began her long tenure as
Librarian III, Head of Children's Services; her leadership and attention
to the needs of the youngest community members allowed the Children's
and Teen Departments to thrive; under her direction, the development of
innovative and unique services, such as the Family Focus Center (FFC),
became best-practice models which other libraries continue to emulate;
and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Pam Frazier, affectionally known as Miss
Pam, provides families with a creative blend of traditional events, such
as story-hours, nature presentations, music and authors, with things
unique to the Crandall mystique, such as The Teddy Bear's Picnic, NYC

Ballet at SPAC, Adirondack Theatre Festival's PB&J Cafe, Reading to
Therapy Dogs, the Haunted Prom, and Reduced Teen Group; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, even more vital than the blossoming growth and
sustainability of this department, Pam Frazier's moral center, kindness,
and breadth of knowledge has touched the lives of countless local
children; and

WHEREAS, Pam Frazier has rendered faithful, conscientious and
valuable service to Crandall Public Library for four decades, truly
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; she
leaves behind a legacy to the immeasurable students whose lives she has
touched and to the residents of her community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pam Frazier upon the occasion of her retirement after 40 years of
distinguished service to Crandall Public Library; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Pam Frazier.
