COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of the United
Way of the Mohawk Valley on June 10, 2022

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the United Way of the Mohawk Valley
to be celebrated on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the Saranac Biergarten in
Utica, New York; and

WHEREAS, United Way of the Mohawk Valley is an independent,
volunteer led, locally governed, non-profit organization which has been
steadfastly serving the people of the Mohawk Valley since 1921; and

WHEREAS, An innovative social services organization located in
Utica, New York, United Way of the Mohawk Valley continuously goes above
and beyond the task of raising and distributing funds by helping local
leaders from the public and private sectors to develop agendas,
prioritize community needs, and find solutions in the most effective
way; and

WHEREAS, The United Way of the Mohawk Valley tirelessly serves the
interests of the people of this Empire State, funding countless local
programs and initiatives, as well as working with funded partners to
ensure outcomes are being met and impact is being made; and

WHEREAS, For a century, the United Way of the Mohawk Valley has been
dedicated to the strength and well-being of families throughout Oneida
County; since its inception, this vital agency has strived to provide
professional counseling and community services which empower individuals
and families to deal more effectively with their challenges, enhancing
the quality of their lives; and

WHEREAS, Through its strategic investment process, United Way of the
Mohawk Valley carefully analyzes local needs, as well as social and
economic changes in the community to ensure the organization makes
smart, goal-oriented decisions regarding the region's most critical
needs; and

WHEREAS, The success of United Way of the Mohawk Valley is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its staff, volunteers and Board of
Directors, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by
an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to the United Way of the Mohawk

Valley, celebrating their tenth decade of assistance to the community;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations which enhance the well-being and vitality of their
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the United Way of the Mohawk
Valley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the United Way of the Mohawk Valley.
