HONORING Libby Post upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Third Age
Achievement Award by Lifepath on April 29, 2022

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Libby Post
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Third Age
Achievement Award by Lifepath, to be celebrated at its 26th Annual
Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Wolferts Roost Country
Club, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Lifepath is dedicated to keeping older neighbors and
friends healthy and safe by providing effective programs and support to
help them stay connected to their communities; and

WHEREAS, Each year, this auspicious event recognizes the
contributions area residents and professionals have made in their
communities during the Third Age of their lives (after turning 60
years-old); Libby Post is truly deserving of this prestigious award; and

WHEREAS, Libby Post earned her master's degree in political
communications from the University at Albany; and

WHEREAS, Libby Post brings a wide range of communications
experience, advocacy and political campaign expertise to her clients at
Communication Services, a full-service public affairs and lobbying
operation that provides strategic communications and campaigns to
clients that include public libraries, healthcare organizations and
animal welfare groups; and

WHEREAS, Since 2018, Libby Post and Sheila Healy have run the
political consulting firm, Progressive Elections, LLC, specializing in
local elections; Libby and her business partner have had tremendous
success electing pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ candidates since starting the
firm; and

WHEREAS, Through her public affairs work, Libby Post runs the New
York State Animal Protection Federation and represents the state's
network of animal shelters at the capitol where she has been successful
in garnering support for homeless companion animals including the
establishment of the Companion Animal Capital Fund which will receive
$10M in funding in the FY23 state budget; and

WHEREAS, Libby Post has been a regular on WAMC's "The Roundtable"
for over a decade, and is the founding co-chair of CapitalWomen, the
Capital Region's political action committee; she is also an adjunct
professor at the University at Albany's Rockefeller College of Public

Affairs and Policy where she teaches "The Science and Art of Political
Campaigns" and "Making Policy Understandable"; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her partner of 27 years, Lynn
Dunning-Vaughn, and their son Alex, both of whom feel privileged to be a
part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefits of others which Libby Post has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Libby Post upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2022 Third Age Achievement Award by Lifepath; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Libby Post.
