COMMENDING Linda Kollar upon the occasion of her
retirement after 41 years of distinguished service
to the citizens of Fulton County

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its
citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Linda Kollar upon the occasion of her retirement after 41 years
of distinguished service to the citizens of Fulton County; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of the former Broadalbin High School, Linda
Kollar began her long career with Fulton County as a DMV License and
Registration Clerk in June of 1980; by January of 1989, she was promoted
to Senior Motor Vehicle Clerk; and

WHEREAS, Linda Kollar continued to rise through the ranks, assuming
the role of Motor Vehicles Supervisor in January of 2010; four years
later, she was appointed Deputy County Clerk, and was elected to the
title of County Clerk in 2018, the position from which she will
officially retire at the end of the year; and

WHEREAS, In her capacity as County Clerk, Linda Kollar served with
loyalty, honor and distinction; throughout her tenure, she managed not
only the County Clerk's office, but also, the County Records Room, and
the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles office in Johnstown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, In her official acts, Linda Kollar was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure with Fulton County, Linda Kollar earned
the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her role as County Clerk, Linda Kollar has
been involved with several local organizations such as the Johnstown
Eagles Auxiliary, and 4-H, where she has been a member, leader and
volunteer her entire life; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her husband James, who feels
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoices in her achievements;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and

sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Linda Kollar upon the occasion of her retirement after 41 years
of distinguished service to the citizens of Fulton County, and to wish
her well in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Linda Kollar.
