CONGRATULATING Jack Gregorski upon the occasion of
capturing the NYSPHSAA Boys Class A Cross Country
Championship

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Jack
Gregorski upon the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA Boys Class A Cross
Country Championship on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Chenango Valley
State Park, Chenango Forks, New York; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of his excited fans,
Corning-Painted Post High School senior Jack Gregorski won the Boys 5k
Cross Country race with an outstanding time of 15:45; he was
instrumental in the Corning team clinching a State Title with an
impressive team score of 30 points, one of the lowest scores ever at a
State Championship meet; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Jack Gregorski finished 7th at the Northeast
Regional Race on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Van Cortlandt Park in
the Bronx, with a time of 15:27, making him the first Corning-Painted
Post boys' runner to qualify for the Eastbay Cross Country Championships
in San Diego, California; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as cross country, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Jack Gregorski worked hard to hone the
skills of a champion; finishing as the 38th fastest cross-country runner
in the nation, this extraordinary young man learned countless lessons
throughout his journey which will prove invaluable both on and off the
course; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of black and gold, his
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported Jack Gregorski throughout his journey as he ended his season
with an impressive overall record; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by Jack Gregorski is due in
great part to the efforts of his three exceptional coaches, Head Coach
Ray Lawson, Assistant Coach Andrew Cartwright and Volunteer Coach Thomas
Ketchum; and

WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment, and Jack Gregorski has clearly made a contribution

to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of his school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jack Gregorski upon the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA
Boys Class A Cross Country Championship on November 13, 2021; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jack Gregorski, Head Coach Ray Lawson, Assistant Coach
Andrew Cartwright and Volunteer Coach Thomas Ketchum.
