SILLITTI -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Election Law AN ACT relating to the election of county committee members THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding section 2-106 of the election law, a major- ity of the executive committee of a county committee may adopt a tempo- rary amendment to its rules, filed with the state and local boards of elections prior to March 2, 2021, that members of such county committee elected in an odd year whose terms are expiring in 2021 may remain in such office for an additional one-year term. Such county committee members shall be required to run in 2022 for a one-year term. In 2023 and thereafter such committee members shall run for two year terms. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09357-03-1
