BILL NUMBER: S5772 SPONSOR: BROOKS TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a gaso- line priority list for emergency response personnel in the department of homeland security and emergency services PURPOSE: The purpose of this bill is to create a gasoline priority list for emer- gency vehicles to get gas first in times of emergencies. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends subdivision 2of Section 709 of the executive law by adding a new section that provides for the creation of a gasoline prior- ity list for emergency response vehicles in times of natural and man- made disasters.

BROOKS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi- ty and Military Affairs AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a gaso- line priority list for emergency response personnel in the department of homeland security and emergency services THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 709 of the executive law is amended by adding a new paragraph (g-1) to read as follows: (G-1) ESTABLISH A GASOLINE PRIORITY LIST FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE PERSONNEL DESIGNATED BY THE DISASTER PREPAREDNESS COMMISSION FOR PRIORI- TY USE AT ALL SERVICE STATIONS DURING DISASTER RESPONSE TO NATURAL AND MAN-MADE DISASTERS; § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amend- ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen- tation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
