 AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure  law,  in  relation  to  granting
   peace  officer status to officers and members of the security force of
   Arnot Health, Inc.

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  2.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 86 to read as follows:
   86. OFFICERS AND MEMBERS OF  THE  SECURITY  FORCE  EMPLOYED  BY  ARNOT
 HEALTH,  INC.  THE  GEOGRAPHIC  AREA  OF  EMPLOYMENT  FOR PEACE OFFICERS
 EMPLOYED BY ARNOT HEALTH, INC. SHALL INCLUDE ANY PUBLIC STREET AND SIDE-
 WALK THAT ABUTS THE  GROUNDS,  BUILDINGS  OR  PROPERTY  OF  A  HOSPITAL,
 MEDICAL  OFFICE  BUILDING  OR  CLINICAL  SITE OWNED OR OPERATED BY ARNOT
 HEALTH, INC. IN CHEMUNG COUNTY.   SUCH  OFFICERS  SHALL  ONLY  HAVE  THE
 POWERS  LISTED  IN  PARAGRAPH  (C) OF SUBDIVISION ONE OF SECTION 2.20 OF
 THIS ARTICLE, AS WELL AS THE POWER TO DETAIN AN INDIVIDUAL FOR A REASON-
 ABLE PERIOD OF TIME WHILE  AWAITING  THE  ARRIVAL  OF  LAW  ENFORCEMENT,
 PROVIDED  THAT  THE  OFFICER  HAS ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE, OR PROBABLE CAUSE TO
 BELIEVE, THAT SUCH INDIVIDUAL HAS COMMITTED AN OFFENSE; PROVIDED  HOWEV-
 ER,  THAT  NOTHING IN THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL BE DEEMED TO AUTHORIZE SUCH
 OFFICER TO CARRY, POSSESS, REPAIR OR DISPOSE OF  A  FIREARM  UNLESS  THE
 APPROPRIATE  LICENSE THEREFOR HAS BEEN ISSUED PURSUANT TO SECTION 400.00
 OF THE PENAL LAW.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  criminal procedure law, in relation to granting
   peace officer status to officers and members of the security force  of
   Arnot Health, Inc.
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law  is  amended  by
