BILL NUMBER: S6966 SPONSOR: GAUGHRAN TITLE OF BILL: An act to repeal certain provisions of the criminal procedure law relat- ing to persons who are police officers PURPOSE: To update New York's Criminal Procedure Law to reflect the fact that the Long Island Railroad Police no longer exists as it was reorganized into another law enforcement agency. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This bill repeals paragraph (1) of subdivision 34 of section 1.20 of the criminal procedure law. Paragraph (1) currently reads: "Long Island railroad police."

GAUGHRAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to repeal certain provisions of the criminal procedure law relat- ing to persons who are police officers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (l) of subdivision 34 of section 1.20 of the criminal procedure law is REPEALED. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10810-03-1
