   printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation  to  the  women  veterans
   advisory committee
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivisions 1 and 8 of section 361-c of the executive law,
 as added by a chapter of the laws of 2021, amending  the  executive  law
 relating  to creating the women veterans advisory committee, as proposed
 in legislative bills numbers S. 701-A and A. 1140-A, are amended to read
 as follows:
   1. The women veterans advisory committee is hereby created  consisting
 of [eight] TWELVE members, with members appointed as follows:  (a) [two]
 SIX  members by the governor; (b) two members by the temporary president
 of the senate; (c) two members by the speaker of the assembly;  and  (d)
 one  member  each  by the minority leader of the senate and the minority
 leader of the assembly.  All appointed members must be women, and veter-
 ans who served in the United States armed forces  including  members  of
 the  reserve  component.  Each  veteran shall have received an honorable
 discharge or have a qualifying condition as  defined  in  section  three
 hundred fifty of this article.
   8. Each member of the committee:
   (a) serves without compensation, except that a member of the committee
 who  is a state officer or employee may receive her regular compensation
 while engaging in the business of the committee; and
   (b) [while engaged in the business of the committee,  is  entitled  to
 receive  the  per  diem allowance and travel expenses provided for state
 officers  and  employees  generally]  SHALL  BE  ENTITLED   TO   RECEIVE
 REIMBURSEMENT  FOR ANY ACTUAL, NECESSARY EXPENSES INCURRED IN THE COURSE
 OF PERFORMING BUSINESS FOR THE COMMITTEE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the  same  date  and  in  the  same
 manner  as  a  chapter  of  the laws of 2021, amending the executive law
 relating to creating the women veterans advisory committee, as  proposed
 in legislative bills numbers S. 701-A and A. 1140-A, takes effect.
