BILL NUMBER: S7713 SPONSOR: ORTT TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a task force on veteran employment opportunities PURPOSE: This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to provisions of L.2021, c.607. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This legislation amends the underlying chapter by increasing the number of members in the task force on veteran employment opportunities, from eleven to thirteen. The two additional members will be appointed by the governor, one of which must be a representative from the private sector. EXISTING LAW:

ORTT -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a task force on veteran employment opportunities THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 352-a of the executive law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the executive law relat- ing to establishing a task force on veteran employment opportunities, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 3638 and A. 7472, is amended to read as follows: 1. There shall be in the division a task force on veterans employment opportunities which shall consist of the following [eleven] THIRTEEN members: the state director of veterans' services or his or her desig- nee, who shall serve as the chair of the task force; the commissioner of the office of general services, or his or her designee; the president of the state civil service commission, or his or her designee; the commis- sioner of labor, or his or her designee; the adjutant general for the state of New York, or his or her designee; TWO MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR, ONE OF WHOM SHALL BE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE PRIVATE SECTOR; two members appointed by the temporary president of the senate, one of whom shall be a representative from the private sector; two members appointed by the speaker of the assembly, one of whom shall be a repre- sentative from the private sector; one member appointed by the minority leader of the senate; and one member appointed by the minority leader of the assembly. § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the executive law relating to establishing a task force on veteran employment opportu- nities, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 3638 and A. 7472, takes effect; provided, however, that the amendments to section 352-a of the executive law made by section one of this act shall not affect the repeal of such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
