BILL NUMBER: S8042 SPONSOR: MAYER TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 505 of the laws of 2016, amending the tax law relating to the imposition of an occupancy tax in the village of Tucka- hoe, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE: To extend the expiration date of chapter 505 of the laws of 2016, which authorizes the Village of Tuckahoe to enact a room occupancy tax not to exceed 3%. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: The expiration date of section 1202-z-1 of the tax law, as enacted by chapter 505 of the laws of 2016, authorizing the Village of Tuckahoe to enact a room occupancy tax not exceeding 3%, is extended to September 1, 2025.

MAYER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations AN ACT to amend chapter 505 of the laws of 2016, amending the tax law relating to the imposition of an occupancy tax in the village of Tuck- ahoe, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 505 of the laws of 2016, amending the tax law relating to the imposition of an occupancy tax in the village of Tuckahoe, as amended by chapter 210 of the laws of 2019, is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed September 1, [2022] 2025. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13472-01-1
