BILL NUMBER: S9000 SPONSOR: KAMINSKY TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 274 of the laws of 2010 amending the environ- mental conservation law relating to repair of damaged pesticide contain- ers, in relation to the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE: The purpose of this legislation is to reduce the amount of products, such as fertilizers that contain pesticides that may become waste by allowing retailers and distributors to make minor repairs to containers in accordance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Policy. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of this bill amends chapter 274 of the laws of 2010 amending the environmental conservation law relating to repair of damaged pesti- cide containers by two years.

KAMINSKY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend chapter 274 of the laws of 2010 amending the environ- mental conservation law relating to repair of damaged pesticide containers, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 274 of the laws of 2010 amending the environmental conservation law relating to repair of damaged pesticide containers, as amended by section 1 of item MM of subpart B of part XXX of chapter 58 of the laws of 2020, is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire July 1, [2022] 2024 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD15656-01-2
