TITLE OF BILL:

An act to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
the state highway system in the town of East Aurora as the "Specialist
Dale Sadowski Memorial Bridge"

 
PURPOSE:

Relates to designating a portion of the state highway system in the town
of East Aurora as the "Specialist Dale Sadowski Memorial Bridge."

 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:

Section 1 - The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-n to
read as follows: 344-n. Portion of the state highway system to be desig-
nated as the "Specialist Dale Sadowski Memorial Bridge". The bridge on
Route 20A/Quaker Road designated as bridge number 1016090, which crosses
over the Cazenovia Creek in the town of East Aurora, county of Erie.

Section 2 -States that the commissioner of transportation shall provide
for the installation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state
highway systems as designated pursuant to section 1 of this act. The
designation will be for ceremonial purposes only, and the official name
of the bridge will not be changed as a result of this act

 
JUSTIFICATION:

Specialist Sadowski was a decorated war hero and veteran of the Vietnam
War. He served in the US Army from October of 1969 until September of
1971. He was also in the Army reserves from September 1971 until October
of 1975. During his time serving his country, Specialist Sadowski
received the National Defense Service Medal and numerous marksman and
sharpshooter citations and campaign ribbons.  After his service,
Specialist Sadowski was an active member of the East Aurora American
Legion, serving on the Executive Board. He was on the Honor/ Color
Guard.

This legislation to honor and pay tribute to Specialist Dale Sadowski's
heroic service.

 AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-n to

   §  344-N.  PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE
 "SPECIALIST  DALE  SADOWSKI  MEMORIAL  BRIDGE".  THE  BRIDGE  ON   ROUTE
