BILL NUMBER: S9337 SPONSOR: RAMOS TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 831 of the laws of 1981, amending the labor law relating to fees and expenses in unemployment insurance proceedings, in relation to the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To extend such provisions of the Labor Law relating fees and expenses for unemployment insurance proceedings for an additional two years. Under current law, these provisions will expire December 31, 2022. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section one extends subdivisions (3)(a) and (3)(c) of Section 538 of the Labor Law until December 31, 2024. Section two sets the effective date.

RAMOS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor AN ACT to amend chapter 831 of the laws of 1981, amending the labor law relating to fees and expenses in unemployment insurance proceedings, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3 of chapter 831 of the laws of 1981, amending the labor law relating to fees and expenses in unemployment insurance proceedings, as amended by section 1 of item SSS of subpart B of part XXX of chapter 58 of the laws of 2020, is amended to read as follows: § 3. This act shall take effect January 1, 1982, provided, however, that paragraphs (a) and (c) of subdivision 3 of section 538 of the labor law as added by section one of this act shall remain in full force and effect until December 31, [2022] 2024. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD15509-01-2
