LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Timothy Coburn upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Unsung Hero Award by The Westchester
Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Timothy Coburn has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Timothy Coburn
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Unsung Hero
Award by The Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect to be
celebrated at its 32nd Annual "Unsung Heroes" Awards Ceremony, on Thurs-
day, April 30, 2009, at The Westchester Institute for Human Development,
Cedarwood Hall, Westchester Medical Center Campus, Valhalla, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Timothy Coburn, who has been employed with the Department of
Social Services since 2002, began his service with the County in Child
Protective Services and remained there for five years before trans-
ferring to Preventive Services in August of 2007; and
WHEREAS, He has worked in the Yonkers District Office the entire time,
and brought a wealth of knowledge with him from his previous employers;
Timothy is empathetic and compassionate about both his work and his
customers; and
WHEREAS, Timothy Coburn takes the initiative to find the resources
that are just right for the family; he is the "go to" person where
services and resources are concerned; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Timothy Coburn has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Timothy Coburn upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Unsung Hero Award by The Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse
and Neglect; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Timothy Coburn.
