LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Siobahn Pellegrino upon the occasion
of her designation for special honor by the United Way of Columbia and
Greene Counties

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Siobahn Pellegrino upon the occasion of her designation for special
honor by the United Way of Columbia and Greene Counties; and
WHEREAS, Siobahn Pellegrino began working as an office supervisor at
Save-A-Lot in January 2004, just prior to her move to Coxsackie, New
York; prior to that, she worked in various capacities at Roadway
Express, including customer service representative, dispatch supervisor
and dock manager; and
WHEREAS, The captain of the annual United Way fund drive at Save-A-Lot
for the past two years, Siobahn Pellegrino began the fund drive several
years ago and chose to lead it after Hurricane Katrina, when it became
apparent how willing her fellow employees were to pitch in and help
others; and
WHEREAS, For this year's Save-A-Lot fund drive, Siobahn Pellegrino
personalized the needs of the United Way to help employees understand
how fortunate they are compared to other local residents; while doing
this, she shared her own personal story of childhood poverty and the
important roles charities played; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought
to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the
citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Siobahn Pellegrino upon the occasion of her designation for
special honor by the United Way of Columbia and Greene Counties; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Siobahn Pellegrino.
