LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Carmine Pisacreta upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the NCADD Westchester, Inc.,
on April 30, 2009
cms WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge those exemplary individuals whose purposeful
lives and distinguished careers have been committed to bettering the
quality of life in this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Carmine Pisacreta upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the NCADD Westchester, Inc., at its Spring Luncheon to be
held on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Lake Isle Country Club, East-
chester, New York; and
WHEREAS, The NCADD is an organization committed to educating the
public, most especially youth, about the illnesses of alcoholism and
chemical dependency, and to help eradicate the stigma surrounding these
diseases; and
WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Carmine Pisacreta has contin-
ually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and
diligent leadership in his unwavering service to his community and
profession and consequently has been designated for this most presti-
gious honor; and
WHEREAS, Carmine Pisacreta was born in St. Stefano Del Sole, Avelino,
Italy in 1941; in 1958, at the age of 17, he came to the United States
to pursue his American dream; and
WHEREAS, Carmine Pisacreta and his wife opened their first hair salon,
Mr. Carmine's International Hair Forum, in 1981, in Yonkers, New York;
since then they have opened two more salons, one in Stamford, Connecti-
cut, and the other in New York City; their full service salons special-
ize in hair replacement that cater to both men and women; and
WHEREAS, Since 1974, Carmine Pisacreta has competed in many hair
competitions all around the globe; in 1978, he was honored by the Master
Barbers and Beauticians of Westchester; later, in 1984, he would serve
as this organization's esteemed President; and
WHEREAS, Despite his busy professional life, Carmine Pisacreta has
been called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless civic
and charitable endeavors and has always given of himself unstintingly;
and
WHEREAS, Carmine Pisacreta is the Founder of the Eastchester Youth
Soccer Association and the Eastchester Soccer League Hall of Fame; he is
also an active member of the Sons of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge and is a
former member of the Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Carmine Pisacreta is an exemplary leader who has
served as the chairman for St. Jude's Children's Research Center, the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Cancer Society; he was also named
the Executive Director of the Miss Westchester Scholarship Pageant in
the years 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his efforts of in-depth magnitude, Carmine
Pisacreta has been recognized by numerous organizations including: the
FC Westchester Youth Soccer League, the Eastchester Youth Soccer League,
Westchester Youth Soccer League Hall of Fame and the Lions Club; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Carmine Pisacreta was selected as the Grand
Marshal of Columbus Day in Eastchester, New York; he was also named
Business Man of the Year by the Calabria Society as well as Man of the
Year by the Sons of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Alba Pastore, and
their three children, Carmela, Angelo and Eugene, as well as their four
grandchildren, David, Bianca, Maxwell and Jake, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, intellect and commitment as demonstrated by Carmine
Pisacreta over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carmine Pisacreta upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the NCADD Westchester, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Carmine Pisacreta.
