LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lisa Magguilli upon the occasion of
being named the recipient of the 2009 Pittsford Citizen of the Year
Award

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lisa
Magguilli upon the occasion of being named the recipient of the 2009
Pittsford Citizen of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, A resident of East Park Road, Lisa Magguilli managed to find
time to give back to the community in spite of being the mother of two
daughters and twin sons; and
WHEREAS, Among her many activities, Lisa Magguilli serves as leader of
Girl Scout Troop 861 and volunteers at St. Louis School, the Pittsford
Food Cupboard and the Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Lisa Magguilli helped start Elizabeth Ministries
11 years ago, which provides support for women with pregnancy-related
issues, and is also working on the annual "super-sale" fundraiser at
Saint's Place, which provides money for the operations of the organiza-
tion; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Lisa Magguilli and to wish her
continued success in all of her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lisa Magguilli upon the occasion of being named the recipient of
the 2009 Pittsford Citizen of the Year Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lisa Magguilli.
