LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Bonnie Werk upon the occasion of her
designation for special honor by the Rockland County Area Office of the
American Red Cross in Greater New York on May 7, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Bonnie Werk upon the occasion of her designation for special honor by
the Rockland County Area Office of the American Red Cross in Greater New
York on May 7, 2009; and
WHEREAS, The Pearl River Store Manager for TD Bank, America's Most
Convenient Bank, Bonnie Werk has been in the banking industry for 25
years; in 2008, she was nominated for a WOW! Award for Retailer of the
Year at the company's Academy Award-style annual awards recognition
event; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Werk has also been the recipient of a multitude of
other awards, honors and certificates of recognition, acknowledging her
efforts of in-depth magnitude, including the 2008 Community Arts Leader-
ship Award from the Rockland Center for the Arts; and
WHEREAS, Despite her busy professional life, Bonnie Werk has compiled
an impressive record of civic and charitable service; she is active in
the Rotary Club of Pearl River, the Chamber of Commerce and the Rockland
Business Association and is a Board Member of the Pearl River Park and
Activity Committee; and
WHEREAS, One of the largest commercial banks in the United States, TD
Bank has more than 23,000 employees and deep roots in the communities
from Maine to Florida it has served since 1852; and
WHEREAS, With Bonnie Werk throughout have been her husband, and their
two children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and
rejoice in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Bonnie Werk and to wish her continued
success in all of her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Bonnie Werk upon the occasion of her designation for special
honor by the Rockland County Area Office of the American Red Cross in
Greater New York on May 7, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bonnie Werk.
