LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Thomas M. Rau upon the occasion of his
designation for special honor by the Rockland County Area Office of the
American Red Cross in Greater New York on May 7, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Thomas M. Rau upon the occasion of his designation for special honor by
the Rockland County Area Office of the American Red Cross in Greater New
York on May 7, 2009; and
WHEREAS, The Region Head/Group Manager responsible for the Rockland
and North Bergen County markets for TD Bank, America's Most Convenient
Bank, Thomas M. Rau has spent more than half of his banking career in
the Rockland County market; and
WHEREAS, A life long resident of Rockland County, Thomas M. Rau
believes in giving back to the region he loves so much; he has been
actively involved in the Rockland Business Association, the Rockland
Economic Development Corporation and the St. Thomas Aquinas College
Presidents Council; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Thomas M. Rau has been active with the United
Way, the Boy Scouts of America, the Westchester Business Association,
Stony Point Little League and the North Rockland Soccer Association; and
WHEREAS, One of the largest commercial banks in the United States, TD
Bank has more than 23,000 employees and deep roots in the communities
from Maine to Florida it has served since 1852; and
WHEREAS, With Thomas M. Rau throughout have been his wife, and their
four children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his many achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Thomas M. Rau and to wish him contin-
ued success in all of his future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Thomas M. Rau upon the occasion of his designation for special
honor by the Rockland County Area Office of the American Red Cross in
Greater New York on May 7, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas M. Rau.
