LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ron Anagnostis upon the occasion of his
retirement as Principal of the Sloatsburg Elementary School after 22
years of distinguished service
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State; and
WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and the
success of the Sloatsburg Elementary School are due in large part to the
efforts of its retiring Principal, Ron Anagnostis; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ron
Anagnostis upon the occasion of his retirement as Principal of the
Sloatsburg Elementary School after 22 years of distinguished service;
this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at a dinner dance to be held
in his honor on Friday, June 12, 2009, at the Holidome in Suffern, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Ron Anagnostis has rendered 22 years of dedicated and unself-
ish service as the Principal of the Sloatsburg Elementary School in
Sloatsburg, New York, and has served 43 years in the field of education;
and
WHEREAS, During his tenure as Principal of the Sloatsburg Elementary
School, Ron Anagnostis was an exceptional innovator and an inspiration
to all; he insisted that educational programs and instruction be dynamic
and exciting, as well as informative; and
WHEREAS, Believing that each person was unique and special, Ron Anag-
nostis assured that every child received the attention, respect, and
encouragement that would build self-esteem and encourage personal
growth; and
WHEREAS, The energy of Ron Anagnostis was limitless; he devoted his
career to serving the students, faculty and community of Sloatsburg; he
fostered and promoted programs of study of the community that served as
models for other districts; and
WHEREAS, Ron Anagnostis' enthusiasm for learning and love of his
students was contagious; he demonstrated that a Principal can change,
impact and forever influence the lives of young people; and
WHEREAS, Ron Anagnostis has continually demonstrated an impressive
dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered in the
Sloatsburg Elementary School for the benefit of its faculty and
students, as well as for the entire community; and
WHEREAS, In completing 43 years of service as an educator, Ron Anag-
nostis leaves behind more than mere bricks and mortar; he leaves behind
a legacy to the residents of the Sloatsburg community and to future
generations of its students; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ron Anagnostis upon the occasion of his retirement, and for his
significant contributions to education in New York State; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ron Anagnostis.
