LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Chinese American Women Commerce
Association of New York upon the occasion of hosting its Inaugural
Dinner Banquet

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with its
time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those organiza-
tions which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of cultural
diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of New York
State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Chinese American Women Commerce Association of New York upon the
occasion of hosting its Inaugural Dinner Banquet on Sunday, May 31,
2009; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of this special event is to promote the organiza-
tion, support business women societies, and to assist those in need in
the greater New York area; and
WHEREAS, The Chinese American Women Commerce Association of New York
has led the growth and revitalization of the Flushing area; it is a true
asset to society; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Chinese American Women Commerce Association of New York upon
the occasion of hosting its Inaugural Dinner Banquet; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Liu Tee SHU, President, Chinese American Women Commerce Asso-
ciation of New York.
