LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robert Yates upon the occasion of his
retirement from the Tuxedo Board of Education, after 15 years of distin-
guished service

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Robert Yates upon the occasion of his retirement from the Tuxedo Board
of Education, after 15 years of distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, The longest serving member of the school board in the history
of the Tuxedo Union Free School District, Robert Yates has been a member
of the board since 1994, and its President since 2000; and
WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and the
success in the Tuxedo Union Free School District is due in large part to
the efforts of Robert Yates, who has continually demonstrated an impres-
sive dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm
for the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered
there for the benefit of its faculty and students, as well as for the
entire community; and
WHEREAS, Individuals like Robert Yates provide a tremendous service to
the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and
WHEREAS, Robert Yates has clearly had an enduring impact on the youth
in the Tuxedo Union Free School District, as well as on the community-
at-large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause for his
impressive dedication to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our schools;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Robert Yates and to wish him contin-
ued success in all of his future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robert Yates upon the occasion of his retirement from the Tuxedo
Board of Education, after 15 years of distinguished service; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert Yates.
