LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Robert Rahnefeld upon the occasion of
being honored at the 5th Annual Rockland County Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) Recognition Awards Ceremony

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
just tribute to individuals who devote their purposeful lives to serving
others, expressing its highest regard and admiration for their skill and
courageous dedication to protecting and caring for the residents of our
great State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is proud to commend Robert
Rahnefeld upon the occasion of being honored by Pearl River Alumni Ambu-
lance as its Outstanding Member of the Year at Rockland County's 5th
Annual EMS Recognition Awards Ceremony; and
WHEREAS, The ceremony, the highlight of Rockland County's observation
of Emergency Medical Services Week 2009, was held in Pomona, New York,
on May 13, 2009 to recognize the excellence of the county's EMS person-
nel, both professional and volunteer, and the invaluable role they play
in the lives of the citizens of Rockland County; and
WHEREAS, Emergency Medical Services personnel and team members are a
vital part of the safety net of America's healthcare system, providing
lifesaving care to those in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body cannot express sufficient gratitude to
individuals, such as Robert Rahnefeld, who accept that the preservation
of life is a sacred responsibility and make that responsibility their
own, and is pleased to have the opportunity to recognize the sacrifices
and contributions they make to the welfare and safety of their neighbors
and community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that individuals of
such noble aims and accomplishments richly merit the appreciation and
support of a grateful community and should be celebrated and recognized,
as well, by all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Robert Rahnefeld upon the occasion of being honored by Pearl
River Alumni Ambulance as its Outstanding Member of the Year at Rockland
County's 5th Annual EMS Recognition Awards Ceremony; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert Rahnefeld.
